Dr. Stephen Choo
Position: Council Member
Dr Stephen Choo was elected as a Council Member at the Western Australia Chinese Chamber of Commerce (WACCC) in 2022. He is Chief Executive Officer at an institute of higher education called Australian Data and Cyber Institute.
For the past 35 years, Dr Choo has gained valuable international work experience in the higher-education, information technology and management consulting sectors. His previous professional roles include Managing Director and Founder of Digital Survey Research Insight Pty Ltd, Senior Solution Strategist of Employee Experience at Qualtrics Asia-Pacific & Japan and, Vice-President Solution Design Asia-Pacific & Managing Director at Korn Ferry Digital Singapore.
Dr Choo is also a Non-Executive Director and Chair of Remuneration Committee at an international payment fintech firm called Geniusto and a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD).
Dr Choo graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Marketing and Master of Commerce in Management from Curtin University and Doctor of Philosophy in International Management from the University of Western Australia (UWA).
Between 2012 and 2020, Dr Choo also served as the inaugural President of UWA Alumni Network Singapore and Chair of UWA Business School Ambassadorial Council’s Singapore Chapter For his work in enhancing the international reputation of UWA Business School within Asia, Dr Choo was recognised and awarded an UWA Honorary Doctor of Commerce in 2020 and the 2019 UWA Business School Alumni Award.
