In his address, Premier Li spoke of the warming relationship between China and Australia, the pathway for greater understanding and appreciation of the mutual benefits of economic trade and exchange. Premier Li declared his trip to Australia a success, insisting “China stands ready to work with Australia to build a comprehensive strategic partnership…”

Li told more than 350 guests at the banquet, “In line with seeking common ground, the China-Australia relationship has been expanded and deepened and the positive momentum of the complete turnaround of Chinese-Australian relations has been consolidated.” He pointed to GDP growth of 5.3 per cent in the year to March and recent strong manufacturing numbers, led by the tech sector expanding 11 per cent.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese added “My trip to China last Nov coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries. In those years, we have seen China go through extraordinary change. China’s economic transformation has lifted more people out of poverty than has been achieved over that period of time in any nation.”WACCC would like to say a big thank you to Premier Li for coming to visit Australia and to the Australian government, in particular Prime Minister Albanese for being present at the Chinese community event and working with us to drive continued success between China and Australia.
